Bar Mitzvah Mazel Tovs

In the past few months I have been blessed to celebrate the Bar Mitzvot of my nephew and my son. My nephew, Dovid Shmuel Weisman is the son of Aaron Weisman (NEAT class of '83) and himself a student at the Providence Hebrew Day School.

Both boys did outstanding jobs.

It with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of Rav Lipman Podolsky zt"l on the 20th of Iyar, 5767. Rav Podolsky, a.k.a. Lee, was one of our own and one of our best.

Rav Podolsky was an outstanding talmid chacham, a gentleman and an inspirational to everyone who knew him. He was a musician and a songwriter.

We send our condolences to his children, parents and siblings. T'hei nishmoso tzrurah bitzror hachayim.

Very Interesting Article

There was a very interesting article in the January 19th issue of the Rhode Island Jewish Voice & Herald – “Hebrew Day Hit Hard.” As the Island Jewish Voice & Herald is currently building their web site, the article is not available online. A Mazel Tov goes out to Reuben Rutman (see posting below) and his wife Dawn, on the birth of a baby girl last month!

I have no recollection of the school looking like it does today. I guess those decades are adding up!

Welcome to the semi-official Blog for N.E.A.T. I hope this will serve as a central forum for all those former NEATnicks out there who have spread across the world (u-fa-ratz-ta). As your moderator, I hope you will share the link to this site with all the alumni you keep in touch with. (Forgive me Mrs. Wrubel for ending my sentence with a preposition.) (Also forgive me for an incorrect conjugation of the Greek word alumni).

This blog is a space for us to share memories of NEAT, information on what you have been doing over the past few decades (ouch) and news about your life now. Have you run a marathon, written a book, started a dot com and got rich (or went bust) or just lived a good life. Perhaps you are looking for the address of a classmate or teacher. If you have pictures of your kids, post ‘em. After all, everyone really wants to see pictures of your kids. ;-)
